Great to meet you!
As a therapist, I know how difficult it can be for a client to take that first step and reach out for support. During the past eight years, I have had the pleasure of seeing clients from various walks of life take that first step, from school-aged children in underserved communities to retired adults. Working with such a variety of clients has taught me to approach therapy with humility and curiosity because no matter how much my previous clients taught me there is always more to learn.
I studied at Santa Clara University's School of Education and Counseling Psychology, where I earned my Master's degree in 2018. There, I gained an appreciation for eclectic therapy, drawing primarily from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Brief Strategic Therapy to develop my therapeutic style. Since then, I worked in community mental health and private medical clinics. Because of this, I have had the privilege of working with a broad range of clients, from children struggling to learn in the classroom, young adults exploring their gender identity and expression, couples wanting to reconnect romantically, to older adults adjusting to life with chronic pain. These clients have not only been diverse in age, but also in socioeconomic status, ethnicity and culture, and gender and sexual orientation.
