Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Dallas Cressell — a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) based in Illinois. I'm so glad you're here.

For the past three years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside adults through some of life's most challenging moments. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or questions of faith and spirituality, my goal is simple: to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, supported, and never alone in what you're carrying.

I believe healing looks different for everyone, and I'm honored to meet you exactly where you are on your journey.

My foundation in this work began with a B.S. in Psychology from Rockford University, followed by a M.S.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Quincy University — but what drives me most is the meaningful connection that happens in the therapy room, one conversation at a time.

If you're ready to take that first step, I'd love to connect.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based methods, but always tailored to you. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) — two highly effective approaches for anxiety, depression, and trauma. I'm also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which I weave in when it fits your needs.

If I had to describe my style, I'd say I'm laid-back but purposeful. Sessions won't feel stiff or scripted — I show up as a real person, and I find that's often where the most genuine connection happens. At the same time, I'm direct and focused, because I'm always keeping your goals in sight. Think of it as a collaboration: you bring the courage to show up, and together we work toward the growth you're looking for.

I also deeply value faith and spirituality in my own life, and I welcome the opportunity to incorporate that into our work together — if and when it feels meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

The first session is all about you — no pressure, no checklist, just a chance for us to get to know each other.

My main goal is simply to create space for you to share your story, at whatever pace feels comfortable. I'll also take some time to walk you through what working together actually looks like — my style, the approaches I use, and what you can expect from our sessions. And yes, you'll get a glimpse of my personality early on, because I believe that's the foundation of a good therapeutic relationship.

By the end of our first conversation, I'd love to have a sense of what you're hoping to get out of therapy — whether that's working through something specific or simply figuring out where you want to go in life. There are no wrong answers.
