Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Daniel Bentley, a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD from Hofstra University and advanced training in addiction recovery from Zucker Hillside Hospital. I specialize in helping individuals and families overcome the challenges of addiction while addressing a wide range of mental health concerns. Using a client-centered and collaborative approach, I work with my patients to achieve their goals and build fulfilling, value-driven lives.

My approach to therapy

I work to empower individuals on their journey to wellness with a personalized, harm-reduction approach, focusing on minimizing the negative impacts of substance use rather than emphasizing abstinence. I integrate evidence-based practices like Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to foster lasting change. These approaches help clients build awareness of triggers and develop healthier coping strategies, while promoting mindfulness and value-driven actions.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you’ll feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow. My goal is to help you develop practical tools and strategies to manage challenges, build resilience, and live a life that aligns with your values. In our sessions, we’ll focus on fostering self-awareness, identifying your goals, and making meaningful, sustainable changes at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we’ll navigate obstacles and create a path toward lasting well-being.
