Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Dr. David S. Johnson, a licensed clinical mental health therapist, Psy.D., Masters Level Certified Addiction Professional, and trained pastor and chaplain. For over 30 years, I’ve helped couples, individuals and families find healing through evidence‐based and faith‐integrated care for those who desire. My career began in youth services and expanded into roles as a dual‐diagnosis counselor, therapist, and program director supporting homeless veterans. I’ve also served as an adjunct counseling professor and currently supervise interns pursuing LMHC, Marriage and Family Therapy, and addiction credentials. I specialize in addiction recovery, trauma‐informed care, men's issues, anxiety, depression and spiritual integration. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and clinically grounded space where clients can grow, heal, and build lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence‐based practices. I work to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore challenges, build insight, and develop practical tools for lasting change. With over 30 years of experience. My background in veteran support allows me to work effectively with a wide range of concerns. As a trained pastor and chaplain, I can integrate biblical principles with clinical strategies when appropriate. My goal is to walk alongside clients with clarity, empathy, and steady guidance as they move toward healing, resilience, and meaningful growth.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a warm, calm, and welcoming first session focused on building trust and understanding their story. I take time to learn about your concerns, history, and goals so we can create a clear, personalized plan for treatment. My approach is compassionate, structured, and grounded in evidence‐based practices, with the option to integrate faith‐based support if you desire it. I work to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can speak openly and feel heard. By the end of the first session, clients typically gain clarity about their needs, an initial direction for therapy, and a sense of support as we begin working toward healing, stability, and meaningful growth together.
