Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Donald Kalkstein, a sports psychology expert and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 30 years of experience helping athletes and individuals strengthen their mental performance and overall well-being. As the Senior Director of Mental Skills and Team Wellness for the Dallas Mavericks and Senior Advisor to the Texas Rangers, I specialize in building confidence, focus, and resilience in high-pressure environments.

I hold advanced degrees in Sports Leadership, Athletic Counseling, and Rehabilitation Counseling, and I’m a Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC) and Registered U.S. Olympic Sports Mental Health Provider. My approach combines proven mental skills techniques with personalized strategies to help clients overcome challenges, improve performance, and enhance their mental wellness.

Through my consulting practice, Think2win LLC, I work with athletes, teams, and individuals seeking expert guidance in mental performance, stress management, and personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to mental performance coaching and therapy is collaborative, practical, and solution-focused, tailored to each client’s unique needs. I combine sports psychology, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and mindfulness strategies to help clients develop the mental skills necessary for peak performance and overall well-being. My style is direct, supportive, and results-driven, helping clients navigate performance anxiety, setbacks, and personal development with a structured and individualized approach.

What you can expect from me

Clients working with me can expect a practical, results-driven approach that helps them develop mental toughness, confidence, and emotional resilience—whether in sports or life.
