Great to meet you!

Dorothy Rose Forgione is a highly experienced, dually licensed therapist with over 20 years in private practice and more than 30 years of clinical experience. She has worked across a wide range of settings, including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), parole groups, and co-occurring disorder groups.

Dorothy has extensive experience treating a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, including Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizotypal and Schizoid Personality Disorders, Antisocial Personality Disorder, depression, PTSD, and all phases of addiction. She is also a co-occurring disorders specialist and advanced hypnotherapist. Her work spans individuals and couples, with a strong track record of successful outcomes.

My approach to therapy

Dorothy’s approach is integrative, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. She utilizes a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Rogerian therapy, and mindfulness techniques.

She also incorporates case management when appropriate, helping clients access resources such as housing, programs, and education. Dorothy focuses on creating meaningful, positive life changes by meeting clients where they are and tailoring treatment to their unique needs. She views her work as a calling and is deeply committed to helping clients achieve growth, stability, and long-term success.

What you can expect from me

Initial consultations are conducted by our intake team rather than directly with a provider to ensure faster scheduling. During this brief call, our administrative staff will answer general (non-clinical) questions, collect basic information, and help match you with the most appropriate provider.

While you may request a specific provider, pre-appointment consultation calls with clinicians are not available. All clinical discussions, recommendations, and treatment planning will take place during your scheduled appointment.

This process allows us to prioritize direct patient care while offering timely access to services.

In the first session, clients can expect a supportive and welcoming environment where they can openly share their experiences and concerns. Dorothy takes time to understand each client’s history, current challenges, and goals for treatment.

This initial session is focused on building trust and developing a clear, individualized plan. Clients can expect a collaborative process where they feel heard, respected, and empowered to begin making positive changes in their lives.
