Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Ebonie and I would love to be your therapist. In 2019, I entered into private practice. Private practice allows me the ability to be personable, engaging, and empathetic and allows me to connect with clients in the most genuine way. I attended Argosy University where I obtained a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After completing graduate school in 2018, I worked at a local mental health hospital as an inpatient/ outpatient groups therapist.

My approach to therapy

My primary focus is for you to achieve a healthy balance. By utilizing a cognitive/behavioral approach, we will work together to challenge negative thoughts, unprocessed feelings and unwanted behaviors with a goal to gain the tools necessary to manage these emotions in a healthy way. Motivational Interviewing, ACT, and DBT are also used. Encouragement and motivation in addition to CBT are essential to improving self esteem and developing coping skills to face life's changing emotions.

What you can expect from me

As your therapist, I will challenge you to be the very best version of yourself. This may include using gentle confrontation and challenging inconsistencies and incongruences to encourage you to see from alternate perspectives. It is important to establish a baseline early in order to measure progress throughout the therapy process. I assign homework which includes worksheets, journaling, and skill-building to help facilitate change.
