Great to meet you!

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice–prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-DNP) with a strong foundation in both clinical excellence and compassionate, patient-centered care. I also hold a Master’s degree in Community Health Nursing, which informs my holistic approach to mental health treatment and my commitment to understanding each individual within the context of their life, family, and community.

I bring over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families navigating complex mental health challenges across a wide range of settings. I previously served as a Mental Health Intensive Case Manager at the New York Harbor Health Care System at the Brooklyn VA Hospital, where I had the privilege of caring for veterans and military personnel with diverse psychiatric needs. I am also a proud U.S. Army veteran, an experience that deeply shapes my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the unique mental health concerns faced by service members and their families.

In addition, I have worked for approximately three years as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient psychiatric setting at Brunswick Hospital, where I provided acute psychiatric care and medication management for patients with severe and complex mental health conditions.

My clinical focus includes, but is not limited to, the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, and bipolar depression. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their treatment journey. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with thoughtful education, shared decision-making, and a holistic understanding of mental wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe that effective mental health treatment begins with truly listening and understanding each client’s unique experiences, concerns, and goals. I work closely with clients as partners in their care, ensuring they feel respected, informed, and actively involved in treatment decisions.

I practice evidence-based medication management while taking a holistic and trauma-informed approach to mental health. This means I consider not only symptoms, but also medical history, life stressors, cultural background, family dynamics, and social factors that may impact mental well-being. I place strong emphasis on education, helping clients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and medications so they can make confident, informed choices about their care.

My clinical focus includes anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, and bipolar depression. With my background in community health, inpatient psychiatry, and veteran-focused care, I am experienced in treating both acute and chronic mental health conditions across the lifespan. I am especially mindful of the needs of veterans, high-stress professionals, and individuals coping with trauma or major life transitions.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can openly discuss their concerns. Treatment plans are regularly reviewed and adjusted based on progress, response to care, and client feedback. My goal is to help clients achieve symptom relief, improved functioning, and long-term emotional well-being through thoughtful, personalized psychiatric care.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and understood. The initial appointment is focused on getting to know you as a whole person—not just your symptoms. We will review your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, prior treatments, and any life stressors that may be impacting your well-being.

The goal of the first session is to develop a clear understanding of your needs and to begin forming a thoughtful, individualized treatment plan. This may include discussing possible diagnoses, medication options, and other supportive interventions. I prioritize education and transparency, ensuring you understand your treatment options and feel comfortable asking questions before any decisions are made.

Clients can expect a collaborative approach, where we work together to establish realistic goals for symptom relief, improved functioning, and overall mental wellness. If medication is indicated, we will discuss the risks, benefits, and alternatives in detail. No changes are made without your input and consent.

Above all, I strive to create a calm, safe, and professional space where clients feel empowered and supported from the very first visit. By the end of the session, most clients leave with a clearer understanding of their mental health concerns, a preliminary treatment plan, and a sense of direction moving forward.
