Great to meet you!

You don’t have to continue carrying the weight of unprocessed pain and trauma alone. There is hope in finally facing deep-seated issues that tend to produce anxiety, depression, negative behavioral patterns, relationship struggles and so much more. You can break the cycle! Lasting change becomes possible when you have a space where you truly feel understood, supported, and empowered to heal and grow.

I am Dr. Elaine Augustine, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 21 years of experience helping adolescents, adults, families, and military service members navigate life’s challenges. Over the years, I have worked in school settings, hospitals, community behavioral health settings, and clinical research environments. I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, grief, family conflict, anger issues, identity concerns, including attachment issues, marital conflict, including betrayal trauma, women’s issues, and major life transitions. I approach every client with cultural humility, compassion, and a commitment to helping them achieve meaningful, lasting progress that brings wholeness and forward movement.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should provide both insight and practical tools that create real change in your daily life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and solution-focused, grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), Seeking Safety, Behavioral Activation, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy. Through a trauma-informed lens, I help you better understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier ways of coping. Together, we will focus on goals that matter most to you and build a path toward greater resilience, healing, and emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity to begin making sense of what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to be different moving forward. We will discuss your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and the challenges you are facing. Through this exploration we will discuss what you hope to achieve through our work together. You can expect a welcoming, judgment-free conversation where your experiences are respected and your voice is valued. By the end of our session, you will have a clearer understanding of your goals, a personalized treatment plan, and concrete next steps to help you move toward the life you want.
