Great to meet you!

Hi!

I'm Dr. El McCabe, but you can call me El. I am a licensed psychologist with a passion for helping LGBTQ+ individuals, athletes, and those struggling with relationship concerns. I am also well-versed in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy. Outside of the therapy room, I am an avid fan of NY sports, a big reader, and lover of all things outdoors.

A bit about my approach to therapy

As a therapist, I am a warm, relationship-oriented, and challenging. I let you set the pace of treatment and help you build confidence in your innate abilities to heal and persevere during difficult seasons of life. I use a mixture of a talk-therapy (psychodynamic) approach & more structured skills from Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Expect a deep interest in you as a person, beyond your diagnosis!

What you can expect from our first session

I follow the client's lead in setting their own goals for therapy. I am both solution-oriented and process-focused in my approach to client's goals. This means that I will offer relevant skills tailored to your specific concerns & will spend as many sessions as needed discussing/processing these concerns.

Eleanor's style is
