Great to meet you!

As a psychologist, my goal is to help a client shift patterns in life. Often, I start with the following questions: What is working for you in your life? What is not working for you in your life? From there, we begin mapping out a plan for growth and change.

My current focus is on treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and/or difficulties in relationships and family dynamics. I am available to take on clients virtually. Please schedule a session with me directly on this website. Alternatively, you can call or email 201-510-5576 / [email protected] to inquire about further availability beyond what is listed on my calendar.

My approach to therapy

My core training is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, over the course of my career, I have learned that one approach does not fit all. Sometimes, challenging our thoughts can be helpful. Other times, we feel that our thoughts are unchanging and set in stone. In those times, we may try to tolerate the uncomfortable thought, sensation, or experience, until it passes.

Similarly, sometimes, our responses are shaped from past experiences. Other times, our responses are knee-jerk reactions, such as when you pull your hand away from a hot pot on the stove. In working together we will identify what approach works best for you.

What you can expect from me

Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes. Clients are expected to see therapy as an investment and therefore treat appointments with a sense of commitment.

Depending on the reason that one came to therapy, the content of the session will be different. In the last 10 minutes of session, we will reflect and review what the session covered. The goal is to leave you, the client, with a thought or exercise to take home and try out until our next session. In my experience, this helps to encourage progress between sessions and move you closer towards your therapy goal.
