Great to meet you!

Emily Nicholas has been practicing psychotherapy for over 10 years since receiving her Master's in Clinical Social work from the University of Chicago. She has worked with a diverse population ranging from community mental health, clinical work at Columbia University and now outpatient private practice. She has specialties that include anxiety, ADHD, and working with performing artists. Before Emily was a therapist she spent over a decade performing with a professional ballet company.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to help you find a sense of peace with yourself—whether that means breaking free from unhelpful patterns, achieving new goals, or living a life that feels truly authentic. While my clinical training is rooted in relational psychotherapy, I also bring years of experience utilizing skills-focused approaches like DBT, CBT, and ACT. By blending these perspectives, I tailor our work to fit your unique needs and goals.

What you can expect from me

Before having an official "first session" I prefer to have a brief phone conversation.
