Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of South Carolina, and I'm glad you're considering participating in therapy! I am passionate about partnering with my clients on their journeys toward growth and self-discovery. I use evidence-based approaches to support individuals in achieving their goals, navigating life changes, and finding clarity in their direction. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults, including couples, to help them build confidence, improve relationships, and heal from past experiences.

My therapeutic toolkit includes techniques like motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused CBT, all designed to help clients challenge unhelpful thought patterns, manage emotions, process trauma, and cultivate self-efficacy, ease, and empowerment.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Eastern University near Philadelphia, PA, where I gained valuable experience interning at an outpatient group therapy program affiliated with Monte Nido eating disorder treatment. I then moved to South Carolina to complete my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Francis Marion University. I am also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC), with diverse experience in residential and inpatient treatment for adolescents and adults, outpatient counseling, and behavioral health consultation in medical settings.

Outside my therapy practice, I love training jiu jitsu, baking, reading, traveling, playing board games, and spending time in nature or with family.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, evidence-based, and solution-focused. You're considering therapy, so you've already identified something you'd like to change. Maybe you're on the fence and need help deciding what you really want (or allowing yourself to want it). Maybe you're not sure how to build motivation to make it happen. Or maybe you make progress toward your goal and then find yourself backsliding or self-sabotaging.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or stuck, you're not alone. You're human. Each of us has developed patterns that feel familiar and have "worked" for us thus far. Sometimes those patterns come at a cost, or no longer serve us as well as they once did. However, disrupting the pattern can evoke anxiety, resistance, and avoidance - after all, it's helped us survive!

My training and education in psychology and counseling give me the perspective and tools needed to help you release the old patterns, take steps toward your goals, and make lasting changes. I'll point out connections between past experiences and current functioning to help you understand the thoughts, emotional responses, and behaviors that you'd like to change, and introduce techniques and strategies to address specific symptoms or problems, affirming your progress as you try them out and find what works.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I'll get to know you and work to understand clearly what you'd like to gain from participating in therapy, as well as making sure I'm a good fit to help you achieve those goals. I'll ask questions about your current functioning and symptoms, past and present important relationships, work or educational environment, medical history, as well as the strengths that have helped you overcome obstacles thus far. You're welcome to ask any questions about my professional experience and specific approach to make sure you feel confident I'll be able to support you in the way you need. Once I understand where you're coming from and where you'd like to go, we can get to work together!
