Great to meet you!

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado for nearly 20 years. I am also a Certified Case Manager (CCM). My case management experience can be useful in helping clients navigate psycho-social challenges. I enjoy helping people, it gives me energy. Tools I use with clients include CBT, DBT and IM. The spiritual and existential thoughts of Jung and Frankl resonate with me. My greatest strength is to listen and be present to what is said and to what is not said.

My approach to therapy

You are likely seeking help with a problem that causes difficult emotions. After establishing the nature of the problem, we will likely start our work together within the framework of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). As you learn to separate the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that underpin your problem, you will begin to develop insights and a sense of relief.

What you can expect from me

CBT requires homework to help accelerate the healing process. Assignments vary but generally fall into two general categories: 1.) Building awareness of thought patterns and feelings, 2.) Trying new behaviors. This is kind of like running a mini-experiment and seeing what the test results yield. Don't worry, I won't ask you or attempt to convince you to try a new behavior until you're ready. Personal safety, both physical and emotional, is absolutely necessary.
