Great to meet you!

It's so good to meet you!

I'm a true believer in the power of good mental health and have seen therapy transform people's lives many times. But I do realize it's difficult taking that first step into therapy so congratulations to you!

I’ve been practicing for 17+ years, and have worked in many settings including non-profits, private practice, hospitals and medical clinics, the Department of Defense, and the VA.

I am: Open-minded, Compassionate and Authentic

Training: University of Missouri-Columbia School of Social Work

License type: LCSW

Top Specialties: Depression, Anxiety, LGBTQIA+, Trauma, Spectrum Disorders

Treatment Methods: Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Solution-Focused, Strengths-Based, Family, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral (DBT)

My approach to therapy

I take my lead from my clients. If you wish to share your feelings with someone who is unbiased and judgement free then I will be a good fit for you.

I also specialize in working with victims of trauma, having experienced it myself. I know the importance of carefully processing trauma in order to mitigate the burden. This work is truly fulfilling as guilt and shame have no place in someone's life.

I enjoy working with individuals who are exploring their sexuality and desires, and need a safe place to process their thoughts.

I take a supportive approach in helping clients who are ready to stop abusing alcohol or drugs, or who have an addiction that is more personal such as pornography or sexting.

I also work with the partners of addicted persons, as well as others in unhappy or unfulfilling marriages/relationships.

What you can expect from me

I meet my clients where they are. If they are unsure of what to say or what to expect from therapy, I gently lead them. Others prefer to jump right in and start sharing. Either way is ok!
