I am a licensed clinical social worker, who specializes in treating trauma. I received my master’s degree from Baylor University. I am EMDR trained and have experience working with many clients across diverse populations. Most of my foundational experience was gained in inpatient setting supporting patients with severe or long lasting symptoms related to mental health. I have worked in many levels of care from inpatient to outpatient, telehealth, and on a county level.
My style is warm, open, and gentle. I will ask lots of questions to promote mutual understanding. I will do my best to narrate my thoughts in order to keep my clients involved, and in the loop on what's going on. I value and emphasize transparency in my practice. I want the dynamic to feel like a partnership. I use an eclectic approach to therapy and will often base my interventions on what the client needs or would benefit most from. I use DBT, IFS, MI, and EMDR practices the most. I will always discuss the approaches I use with my client before hand so they are informed.
Clients can expect a non-judgmental space and someone who will acknowledge them where they are at. My clients can expect to be informed. I encourage questions and sharing comments and reactions freely. In a first session clients will be given an introduction to myself, will be given information on the limits of confidentiality, will be given information on the types of therapies I utilize, and will be given encouragement, validation, and space to share their concerns and feelings.
