My approach to therapy

As a psychiatrist, I believe that mental health and personal growth are multifaceted, and that medications may be an important part of that journey but are rarely a “fix” in themselves. Further, as people grow and change, medication needs often evolve as well. I want us to talk about how you make sense of your mental health struggles and how you approach growth and self-care from a holistic perspective so that we can explore medication in a manner that is psychotherapeutically informed. Ideally, I like to collaborate with therapists and/or other medical providers who are working with you (when they are also willing to do so). This may include helping you identify how to seek out the right kind of therapy, or how to best engage with your established therapist. I also provide psychotherapy to folks who are not already working with a therapist, when I feel my skills are a good fit for your needs.

What you can expect from me

I make sure to take the time to really get to know my patients and what may be at the root of someone's challenges so that we can work together on moving toward health and thriving.
