Great to meet you!

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Dr. Ginette Ortiz-Olivieri, a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, families, and military communities. I understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you have been carrying stress, sadness, fear, pain, or uncertainty on your own. My goal is to create a safe, warm, and respectful space where you feel truly heard, supported, and understood. I have experience helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, parenting concerns, sleep difficulties, fears, chronic pain, and major life transitions. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure where to begin, therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and begin building a healthier path forward. I hold master’s and doctoral degrees in psychology from Albizu University, and my work is grounded in compassion, clinical experience, and a deep respect for each client’s unique story. I would be honored to support you as you move toward healing, growth, confidence, and greater emotional well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized to your needs. I believe every person’s story is unique, and therapy should move at a pace that feels supportive, realistic, and safe for you. I use evidence-based strategies while also taking a holistic view of your life, including your thoughts, emotions, body, relationships, stressors, and daily experiences. In our work together, we may use cognitive behavioral strategies, coping skills, relaxation techniques, mindfulness-based tools, and supportive reflection to help you better understand yourself and manage what feels difficult. My goal is to help you feel more balanced, capable, and hopeful. Together, we will identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build practical tools for everyday life, and work toward meaningful changes that support your healing and well-being.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free conversation. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope will feel different in your life. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting. Many people begin therapy feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or nervous about what to say. My role is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and safe as we take things one step at a time. Together, we will begin identifying your goals and creating a plan that feels realistic and helpful for you. Therapy is a partnership, and my hope is that you leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful about the path forward.
