Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Professional Art Therapist Associate (LPATA), and Art Therapist Registered- Provisional (ATR-P) in Kentucky. I moved to Kentucky from Indiana in 2013 to attended the University of Louisville's Personal Counseling and Art Therapy program, graduating in 2015. In 2015, I also began my career at a nonprofit organization providing child (6yrs to 18yrs) and family therapy services in their home setting. In 2018, I began transitioning to the school-based therapy program, working with ages 12-17, with students' caregivers, and with school staff. I was full-time at schools by 2022, which is the job I'm transitioning from to create my new job serving folks here, through Headway. I work in a variety of treatment areas including, but not limited to, anxiety, anger, stress, life adjustments, emotion regulation, depression, grief, communication, trauma, and identity.

Current career goals include, expanding my licensure to Florida (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) and transitioning my work to Headway.

On a personal note, I'm recently getting very into baking. I also enjoy a good book, anime, warm weather, tea/coffee, sand volleyball, stationary biking, visiting my family, my community group at church, traveling, and getting outside to walk, hike, or see new places.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is creative, strengths-based, person-centered and empathetic, solution-focused, non-judgmental, and affirming/empowering. I see people in a holistic view meaning, we are made up of mind, body, heart, and soul; each impacting the other in some way. In therapy, I hope to meet you where you're at, understand you and wherever you find yourself in life, and be a support towards where you want life to be.

What you can expect from me

During a first session, you can expect us to gather information about the following: what brings you to therapy, family information, past experiences that may impact current life, mental health history (if any), cultural and/or religious beliefs/practices (if any), identity, strengths and resources, history of and current family and social life, history of and current work and/or school life (if any), and creating a list of materials you have at home, if you're interested in Art and expressive therapies. We'll also complete a couple questionnaires and set some goals. I'd love to know if you have any preferences for therapy and any expectations you might have.
