Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Heather. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I work with women who are navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, and past trauma. Many of the clients I see are balancing work, school, relationships, and high expectations, while quietly feeling exhausted or unsure of who they are outside of everything they’re “supposed” to be doing. Others come in knowing their past still shows up in their present and they are wanting a space to work through this in a way that feels safe and steady. I have worked in the field of social work since 2008. I have experience working in multiple settings including medical, home health, inpatient psychiatric hospital, community mental health, and school settings (preschool to college).

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is collaborative, gentle, and warm. You don’t need to have everything figured out, and you don’t need the perfect words. We start right where you are. Sessions are a place to talk through what’s been weighing on you, notice patterns in thoughts and emotions, and build tools that help you feel more grounded and in control of your life. I use a person-centered, strength-based approach and offer EMDR when it feels appropriate. We move at a pace that feels good to you. You always have a say in what we work on, and nothing is rushed. Clients often tell me they feel heard, not judged, and supported in a way that feels steady rather than overwhelming. You don't need to have everything figured out, and you don't need the perfect words. If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure of who you are, therapy can be a place to slow down and make sense of things. You don't have to have it all figured out to start, and you are not alone.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is all about getting to know you. We talk about what is bringing you to therapy and explore your goals, hopes and dreams while I provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background and what you are currently struggling with. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
