Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified, licensed creative arts therapist with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, parenting challenges, trauma, and emotional overwhelm. I have worked extensively with women impacted by domestic violence, helping clients rebuild safety, self-worth, emotional resilience, and connection to themselves.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing looks different for everyone. I strive to create a space where clients feel emotionally safe, supported, and able to show up authentically without judgment.

I earned my Master of Professional Studies in Art Therapy from Pratt Institute and my MFA in Art Practice from School of Visual Arts. In addition to my clinical work, I have extensive experience in education, supervision, and the visual arts, including mentoring professionals and creating therapeutic and creative learning environments.

As both an artist and therapist, I value creativity, reflection, and self-expression as powerful tools for healing and growth. While I am trained in expressive and creative approaches, no artistic experience is necessary to work with me. Depending on each client’s needs, sessions may incorporate traditional talk therapy, mindfulness, insight-oriented work, and creative interventions to support emotional wellness and deeper self-understanding.

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, thoughtful, and gifted in decreasing anxiety. Clients often appreciate that I create a calm, supportive environment that allows for honesty, curiosity, and growth at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.

My goal is to help people feel seen, empowered, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges and move toward greater balance and well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in deep listening, empathy, and authentic human connection. I believe that healing begins when clients feel truly seen, heard, and understood within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. Drawing from object relations theory, I recognize the importance of early relationships and relational patterns in shaping how we experience ourselves and others. In our work together, I help clients explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion while developing greater self-awareness, emotional insight, and healthier ways of relating. I integrate creativity, reflective inquiry, thoughtful feedback, and supportive dialogue to help clients process experiences, express emotions, and reconnect with their strengths. As a creative arts therapist, I value both verbal and nonverbal forms of expression, while always tailoring the therapeutic process to meet each client’s individual needs and comfort level.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will begin getting to know one another and exploring what brings you to therapy at this point in your life. We will discuss your needs, goals, expectations, current challenges, and what has or has not worked for you in the past. The first session is also an opportunity for us to determine what approaches feel most supportive and comfortable for you.

I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, so I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment where you can move at your own pace. Safety and trust are prioritized. You are not expected to share everything all at once.

My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of how we might work together moving forward.
