Great to meet you!

Is your family struggling? Are you days filled with more stress and overwhelm than joy and peace? Consider beginning your journey to healing and connection by inviting me in as your support and guide. Experienced with helping families navigate loss, adoption, attachment, medical trauma, and challenging behaviors it is my desire and honor to offer families like yours help, hope, and peace within your home.

Are you finding that parenting is hard, exhausting, lonely, and isolating? Do you end your day feeling drained emotionally and physically? Are your emotions all over the place? Have you tried everything you know but your child still has challenging behaviors? I get it! I have been on this journey too. Parenting is the hardest job in the world. Parenting a child whose earliest relationships were rooted in loss and rupture is even harder. At times, parenting a child who has experienced early childhood trauma can seem impossible.

I have been a pediatric critical care nurse for 19 years. I was honored to spend my career helping children and their families during what was most likely one of the most challenging and stressful times in their lives. My years as a nurse taught me that I could not always fix the hurt and the pain. Yet, I could sit and hold my patient's hand and help them find comfort during times of distress. I feel that the same is true for the work I do now. I may not always have the answers or the magic "fix", but I can help you learn to make sense of your journey and help you through the hard times. As a Marriage and Family Therapist , I work with individuals, couples, and families in order to help them find joy and peace within their lives.

I would be blessed to walk alongside your family on your path to healing and share what I have learned.

My approach to therapy

I feel that it is within healthy relationships that true healing can be found and prefer to work with children along with their caregivers. When working with families and children, I use a very playful and engaging approach to help facilitate change and healing. My techniques are largely based off of emotion focused and attachment based theories as well as the latest research in the relational neurosciences. I have received training in family play therapy, attachment play therapy, poly-vagal theory, Theraplay, and EMDR. I also provide neurofeedback. In addition, I have been trained as a TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) caregiver and actively utilize this parenting paradigm in my own home.

Although, I work with families with children of all ages, I am passionate about working with parents and caregivers. I find that long lasting and impactful change truly happens when I work with parents. When working with children, their parents are always included in the treatment as I am a true family therapist. I do not see children and teens for individual therapy.

What you can expect from me

Our first session together will be a longer session. I only meet with parents and caregivers first so that we can talk freely about the challenges you are seeing and the needs of your family system. Together, we will design a treatment plan moving forward to help find your family more days of peace and less days of stress.
