Hi, I am Holly Lockhart-Kidd. I am licensed professional counselor in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy and person- centered approaches. I believe that my clients are the experts on their lives and situations, I am just here to assist them in understanding and managing themselves. I am open and honest. I tend to be direct. I use humor to cope with situations.
I feel that everyone can use and benefit from therapy. I feel that the therapeutic bond is sacred and should not be messed with by other people. I try to be as transparent as possible with my clients, as I feel that this fosters trust and honesty.
In our first session, I will ask a lot of questions to understand you and your situation(s) better. I will also leave time and space for you to ask me questions. I feel we should have open conversation rather than just a bunch of questions and answers, so I may engage the client in more conversations.
