Great to meet you!

Iris Heather Burandt, FNP-C, PMHNP, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly a decade of clinical experience. Since 2016, I have provided comprehensive care across diverse settings, integrating expertise in both primary care and mental health to support the whole patient.

With dual certification, I bring a unique perspective to practice, offering evidence-based treatment that addresses physical health, psychiatric needs, and overall well-being. I have worked extensively in outpatient, inpatient, and community-based care, developing strong skills in diagnosis, medication management, patient education, and collaborative treatment planning.

Dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care, I am committed to improving access to healthcare, reducing stigma around mental health, and empowering individuals to achieve long-term wellness.

My approach to therapy

I believe in a collaborative, patient-centered approach that blends evidence-based practice with compassionate support. My style is warm, approachable, and focused on building trust so clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and goals. I see each patient as a whole person, not just a diagnosis, and I integrate both physical and mental health perspectives into treatment planning.

I emphasize education and empowerment, ensuring clients understand their treatment options and actively participate in their care. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where patients feel heard, respected, and guided toward long-term wellness.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect sessions with me to feel supportive, collaborative, and solution-focused. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing both their physical and emotional health. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and open communication, with the goal of making each client feel truly heard and understood.

Together, we set realistic goals that may include improving overall wellness, managing symptoms more effectively, building healthier coping strategies, and developing greater confidence in navigating daily challenges. For some, this means stabilizing mood and reducing anxiety; for others, it may mean improving physical health, enhancing resilience, or better managing chronic conditions.

Clients often leave sessions with practical strategies they can apply in daily life, a clearer understanding of their treatment plan, and a sense of partnership in their healthcare journey. Ultimately, my goal is to empower each person to achieve sustainable progress and a higher quality of life.
