It can be said that people suffer most in their attempts to avoid the myriad painful experiences of life rather than in facing them directly. Therapy can help you cultivate a kinder and more tender relationship with your inner pain so that you are able to really feel your wounds, embrace them, and move through them, instead of remaining stuck in cycles of the same old problems and symptoms. Engaging in this process can unlock natural and enduring qualities of contentment, ease, and vitality.
I specialize in a type of therapy called AEDP, which helps you get more in touch with the full range of your core emotions especially as they show up in your body. Doing so can reduce the need for anxiety and defense mechanisms, and can restore a sense of vitality, contentment, and joy that has often been missing for years.
You can expect a warm, active, and sometimes challenging approach from me in sessions - meaning that I don't merely sit back and offer affirmations and validation. I enjoy working experientially in sessions with you, so that process your emotions, sensations, and thoughts as they're occuring in the moment-to-moment unfolding of a session.
