Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Janie, and I’m really glad you’re here.

I’m originally from sunny Florida but made the move to Texas a few years ago, and I’ve been loving it here ever since. I have a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling, with several years of experience helping teens, adults, couples, and families tackle all kinds of challenges—from depression and anxiety to trauma and addiction.

I’m especially passionate about serving the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. As a Black woman, one of the reasons I became a therapist is so people who look like me can have a safe, authentic space to work through barriers and thrive. Representation matters, and I’m here to provide that space and advocate for those who need it. Let’s take this journey together—you’ve got this!

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I believe that healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. Yes, we’ll talk about the hard stuff — the pain, the patterns, the past — but we might also laugh a little (or a lot) along the way. Humor is human, and I’ve found that it can be a powerful part of the process.

My approach is collaborative, open-minded, and rooted in the belief that you are the expert of your own experience. I’m not here to “fix” you — you’re not broken. I’m here to help you explore, understand, and ultimately empower yourself to make the changes you want to see.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, identity, relationships, trauma, or just feeling stuck, we’ll work at your pace, in your way. I welcome all identities, backgrounds, and stories with curiosity, compassion, and zero judgment.

Therapy with me is a space where you can show up fully — messy, uncertain, brilliant, evolving. Let’s untangle the tough stuff, rediscover your strengths, and maybe even have a few laughs along the way.

Ready when you are.

What you can expect from me

In a typical session with me, you can expect to leave feeling seen, heard, and a little more grounded than when you came in. My goal is for you to walk away with a deeper understanding of yourself, a few tools to help you navigate life outside the therapy room, and maybe even a new perspective or “aha” moment. Whether it’s clarity, relief, or just knowing you’re not in it alone — you’ll leave each session with something real to carry forward.
