Great to meet you!

Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and National Certified Counselor with a strong foundation in trauma-informed care. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio and am currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at St. Mary’s University. My professional experience spans leadership roles in community mental health clinics, residential treatment settings, and outpatient care. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, addressing trauma, substance use, crisis intervention, and complex mental health needs. I am trained in a variety of evidence-based practices, including EMDR, TF-CBT, DBT, Seeking Safety, and Trauma-Focused approaches, and I serve as a trainer in several suicide prevention and risk assessment models.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and integrative. I tailor treatment to meet each client’s individual needs while drawing from evidence-based models such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trust-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI). I emphasize safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment in the therapeutic relationship, aiming to create a supportive environment that fosters healing and growth.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to feel heard, respected, and supported as they explore their experiences and build the skills to move forward. Through our work together, clients will gain greater self-awareness, learn effective coping strategies, and make meaningful progress toward their personal goals. Sessions focus on emotional regulation, resilience, trauma recovery, and improved relationships, with a consistent emphasis on strengths and hope.
