Great to meet you!

I have been practicing psychotherapy for 35 years in a variety of settings, but doing primarily individual work for the past 20 plus years. I love my work, and people tell me it shows! I hold degrees in Psychology and Clinical Social Work, and several hundred credits in Continuing Education. I am a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, an Approved Supervisor for N.J. clinicians. I am also a Certified Diplomate of American Psychotherapy Association and am a Certified Relationship Specialist.

My approach to therapy

I work rather informally with my patients as I feel that's what I am most comfortable with and most effective at. I work with a strengths-based approach as my goal is to help my patient empower themself. I use a variety of approaches depending on my patient's need, but largely a Cognitive Behavioral approach.

What you can expect from me

Typically our first few sessions are geared toward becoming comfortable with each other and ensuring that we are a good fit. We will do information gathering and initial discussions on what made you decide to seek counseling now, and what would you like to achieve in our work together. I know therapy can be a scary thought, but I work hard to ensure that you and I will both have a positive feeling throughout the experience!
