Great to meet you!

Jennifer is a licensed therapist with extensive experience working with at-risk youth and families navigating a wide range of challenges. She has supported individuals facing trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, and has had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout her career. Her work is grounded in compassion, empathy, and a deep commitment to client well-being.

Jennifer’s therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, with a focus on treating the whole person — and, when appropriate, the family system. She draws from a variety of modalities to meet the unique needs of each client and is certified in EMDR and TF-CBT, and trained in Sand Tray Therapy, the Flash Technique, and more. Her goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore, heal, and grow.

Jennifer understands that therapy takes courage, and that simply reaching out is an important first step. If you connect with her, she will walk alongside you with warmth, guidance, and encouragement. She is committed to helping you move toward your goals and live a life that feels aligned, empowered, and whole.

My approach to therapy

I take a trauma-informed, collaborative approach to therapy, focusing on helping you feel safe, understood, and supported as we work toward your goals. I believe therapy should be tailored to you—there’s no one-size-fits-all—so I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches depending on your needs.

I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation, and I have experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families.

My work is grounded in approaches like:

  • EMDR to help process and heal from trauma
  • Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) to build coping skills and reduce distress
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to shift unhelpful thoughts and patterns
  • Family Systems Therapy to improve relationships and communication

I also incorporate creative and body-based techniques, such as Sand Tray Therapy and somatic awareness, to help you better understand and regulate your emotions.

Above all, I focus on creating a nonjudgmental, supportive space where you can explore what’s going on, build insight, and develop tools that actually work in your daily life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about getting to know you and making sure you feel comfortable.

We’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it. You can share as much or as little as you’d like—there’s no pressure to go into everything right away. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected.

During this session, I may ask questions about your:

  • Current concerns and symptoms
  • Personal and family background
  • Past experiences that may be impacting you now
  • Strengths, supports, and goals

We’ll also talk about how therapy works, what approaches might be helpful for you, and begin to identify goals we can work toward together.

Most importantly, the first session is a chance for you to get a feel for me as your therapist. A strong connection is one of the most important parts of therapy, and I want you to feel confident that this is a good fit for you.
