My approach to therapy

What sets my approach apart is the balance of depth, clarity, and practicality. I work in a way that helps you understand why you feel and react the way you do, while also giving you concrete tools you can use between sessions. My style is compassionate but active—I won’t simply nod along. I’ll help you make meaningful connections, establish healthier relationships within yourself and others, develop effective coping mechanisms , identifying patterns and increase awareness and providing you with supports and tools you desire for a more healthier and happier you! I draw from evidence-based methods, but I tailor every session to you rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all model. Clients often tell me they appreciate that therapy feels like a collaborative conversation rather than a clinical interrogation. You can expect a space where your feelings are met with validation, your strengths are highlighted, and your growth is supported with both structure and flexibility. Over time, clients typically notice they’re more grounded, more self-aware, and more capable of handling difficult emotions or situations. They begin to make choices that align with who they want to be instead of old habits or fears. My goal isn’t just short-term relief—it’s lasting change that helps you move through the world with greater confidence, clarity, and self-trust.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, my priority is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and in control of the process. We’ll begin by talking about what brings you to counseling and what you’re hoping to gain from it. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this conversation moves at your pace. I’ll ask some guiding questions to get a sense of your history, current concerns, and the patterns you’ve noticed in your life. You’re welcome to pause, skip questions, or take your time. This session is also a chance for you to get a feel for my style, ask questions about therapy, and let me know what helps you feel supported. Together, we’ll start forming a plan for future sessions—clarifying your goals, discussing what approaches might be most helpful, and identifying what you’d like to focus on first. By the end of our time, you should have a clearer sense of how we can work together and what the next steps will look like. Overall, the first session is about building connection, safety, and understanding so that you can begin the therapeutic process with confidence and clarity.
