Great to meet you!

My name is Jeremy Hearon, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Widener University in 2019 and later obtained my LCSW license, further strengthening my clinical training and experience.

My approach is shaped not only by my professional background, but also by real-life experiences that have given me a deeper understanding of how people struggle, adapt, and grow. I recognize that many individuals carry trauma, and I focus on creating a space where clients feel safe to process those experiences at their own pace without judgment.

I have worked with a wide range of populations, including at-risk youth in alternative school settings, individuals in the intellectual and developmental disabilities (MR) population, young children and families in home environments, inmate populations, veterans, and individuals from both blue-collar and white-collar backgrounds. I also have experience supporting victims of assault and individuals coping with bereavement and grief, helping them navigate some of life’s most difficult and painful experiences.

My approach to therapy

My work includes supporting clients through a variety of mental health challenges such as behavioral concerns, trauma, stress, emotional regulation, ADHD, and loss. I help clients process difficult life experiences while building practical coping skills and a stronger, more resilient mindset.

I often use CBT-based strategies, along with individualized treatment planning and therapeutic interventions, in a straightforward and relatable way. This helps clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while working toward meaningful, structured goals.

I value bringing a sense of fun and intrigue into the therapeutic process. Growth and healing don’t always have to feel heavy—incorporating creativity, curiosity, and engaging approaches can make the work more approachable and meaningful, especially for clients who may feel stuck or hesitant about therapy.

I work with youth, adults, and families, and I strive to create a supportive, real, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood and respected. My goal is to help people move forward, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

What you can expect from me

  1. Getting to Know You: We’ll spend some time talking about who you are, your background, and what brings you to therapy. This helps me understand your unique situation and needs.
  2. Understanding Your Goals: I’ll ask about what you hope to achieve in therapy—whether that’s managing stress, working through trauma, improving relationships, coping with ADHD, or any other challenges. Together, we’ll start to identify goals that matter to you.
  3. Sharing My Approach: I’ll explain how I work, including the types of strategies I use, like CBT, treatment planning, and supportive techniques tailored to you. I’ll also talk about how I like to make therapy engaging and approachable, sometimes incorporating creativity and curiosity into the process.
  4. Gathering Relevant Information: I may ask some questions about your mental health history, current struggles, and any previous treatment experiences. This isn’t to judge—it’s to help me provide the best support possible.
  5. Starting the Work: While the first session is mostly about understanding you and your needs, we may also begin exploring strategies or coping tools that can help right away.
  6. Next Steps: Before we finish, we’ll discuss how often we’ll meet, what therapy might look like moving forward, and any questions or concerns you have about the process.

Overall, the first session is about building trust, understanding your story, and laying the foundation for meaningful work together.
