Great to meet you!

I’m a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Mente Serena Counseling. I hold a B.S. in Psychology and a M.A in Forensic and Legal Psychology and a M.A. in Counseling. I’ve worked with children, teens, and adults across different settings. As the daughter of Dominican immigrant parents, I understand how culture, family, and life experiences shape who we are. I now primarily support teens and adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, and everyday stress, and I’m passionate about creating a space where you feel seen and understood.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, supportive, and approachable. I focus on building a real connection so you feel comfortable being yourself, without judgment. I use a mix of CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, play and art interventions, and executive functioning support to help you better understand your thoughts, manage emotions, and feel more confident in your daily life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what’s been going on and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, at your own pace. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, comfortable, and supported.
