Great to meet you!

My name is Zoe Grobman (She/They) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Philadelphia, PA who provides virtual therapy to individuals located anywhere in Pennsylvania or New Jersey. My professional background has focused on providing affirming care to individuals from marginalized backgrounds. Before opening my private practice, I worked providing individual therapy at an LGBT+ focused healthcare facility. Before becoming a social worker I worked as a community organizer to help address issues of structural inequality. My social location as transgender, queer, neurodivergent, and Jewish shapes the trauma-informed and anti-oppressive social lens that I bring to my therapeutic work.

My approach to therapy

I bring a wide variety of trauma-informed treatment modalities to my work with clients. I do this as I believe there is no one-size-fits-all formula to therapy and that treatment with each client should be tailored to what works best for them. Foremost among these approaches is Narrative Therapy. I am also versed in Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Solution-Focused Treatment. I have received formal training in EMDR, which I am capable of incorporating into my work with clients.

I take a non-judgmental, anti-oppressive perspective to my work with clients. I believe that our struggles are not merely biological and psychological, but are also widely informed by our social experiences with living in a world that is so often stacked against us. I believe that healing the causes of our issues often requires explicitly addressing the impact of structural inequality on our mental health.

What you can expect from me

Seeking out therapy can be a daunting process. It requires risking the vulnerability of opening up to someone about the most challenging things in your life. My role as therapist is to provide a safe and affirming space so that you can feel comfortable as we embark on the therapeutic journey together. Through building a trusting therapeutic relationship, we can work to address not only the immediate symptoms you are facing, but also to explore, understand, and ultimately heal from the root causes of your struggles.
