Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jess (she/her), and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a licensed clinical social worker specializing in somatic (body-based) therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), with expressive arts woven in when it’s a good fit for a client’s process. My work centers on helping you reconnect with your body and your own sense of agency, at a pace that feels right for you. I offer a free consultation call so we can talk through your goals and make sure we’re a good match. There’s no pressure — just a conversation to see if this feels right.

My approach to therapy

My style is collaborative, creative, and grounded in a strengths-based, intersectional framework. I believe deeply in therapy that moves toward collective liberation — one that names how oppressive systems shape our minds, bodies, and communities, rather than pretending those forces don’t exist.

Alongside this, I offer psychoeducation to help you understand what’s happening in your nervous system, along with evidence-based strategies to help you feel more connected to your body and confident in identifying your needs in escalated moments.

The somatic and bilateral practices I use in EMDR draw on lineages far older than me, and I hold that history with care and respect throughout our work together. You bring your full self into the room, and I meet you there. Nothing about you needs to be minimized for this work to happen.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll go at your pace as you find your footing with what you want out of therapy. You always get to choose how much you share, and I trust you to know what pace works best for you. Resistance is welcome too — starting therapy can be genuinely hard, and any discomfort that shows up can become an ally we explore together rather than push against. I’ve worked with clients ages 10–22 across middle school, high school, juvenile justice programs, and creative writing workshops, and I bring my training in sound and music (crystal bowls, piano, guitar) to enrich sessions when it fits. All of this shapes a holistic approach built to meet you exactly where you are.
