Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Jess! I wanted to be a therapist because therapy has been a place for me to be known, accepted in the good and the bad, and challenged to be healthier. My desire is to provide that kind of space for others as they work towards change and transformation for themselves. I work with men and women struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma (including Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder and Complex PTSD), spiritual issues, grief and bereavement, infertility, ADHD, co-dependency and other relationship dynamics. I received a Master in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2008 and have received training in EMDR, DBT, and other therapies.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is somewhat eclectic. I try to draw from therapies that integrate the mind, body, and emotions while also paying attention to relational dynamics and attachment. Some therapies I pull from are Internal Family Systems, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I am also EMDR trained. I come from a Christian background and believe that spirituality is an important part of healing but am also happy to work with people who are not spiritual, of the same faith, or do not want that to be a part of their therapy.

What you can expect from me

In our first session we will talk about what's bringing you to therapy and how mental health is impacting your life. This would also be a time where we craft goals together. I hope to get know what is going well in your life and some of the strengths you have as well.
