Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jessica Tarver, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist dedicated to helping individuals, youth, and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity, confidence, and support. I have experience working with at-risk youth, families involved with systems such as DFCS and DJJ, and individuals facing trauma, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and major life transitions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, structured, and tailored to each client’s needs. I utilize evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and strength-based interventions. I specialize in working with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, domestic violence recovery, and family conflict.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session with me to be a supportive, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where they can begin to share their concerns at their own pace. During this session, I focus on building rapport, understanding what brought you to therapy, and gathering important background information to get a clear picture of your needs. You won’t be pressured to share everything at once—this is a space where you can feel safe, heard, and respected.

By the end of the first session, we will begin identifying initial goals and what you would like to gain from therapy, whether that’s improving emotional regulation, managing anxiety, healing from trauma, or strengthening relationships. I will also share how I structure sessions and introduce practical strategies we may begin using. My goal is for you to leave feeling supported, understood, and confident in the direction we’re taking together.
