Great to meet you!

Hello! I’ve been a licensed psychologist in Texas since 1997. I have a PhD and a master's degree, and I'm also a certified life coach. I live in central Austin, although my practice is remote only. I have significant experience in nursing homes and specialize in helping people who have a family member with dementia/Alzheimer's. I am also passionate about helping women stop yo-yo dieting, overcome emotional eating and make peace with food and their bodies. I enjoy helping midlife women through th

My approach to therapy

My clients describe me as genuine, curious, and kind, but also direct and even gently challenging when it's helpful. I love working with clients who prefer an active, practical, and instructive approach. I lean toward approaches that focus on living in the here and now, which are also backed by science. I like to teach a little about the brain, because it helps to understand how we humans are "wired". I tend to include thought work, to help you recognize how thoughts affect actions and results.

What you can expect from me

I take some time to make sure that we are a good fit, because a strong connection is the most important.

I want my clients to take away:

  • a solid sense of being supported, accepted and understood
  • feedback about what might be getting in the way
  • education and tools for taking small steps toward change.
