I’m a 51 year old queer male who grew up in Louisiana and now lives in Denver. I’ve been in practice for over 25 years, and I’ve had a great deal of success with my clients!

I believe the body and the soul have different needs. The body has a need for safety, but the soul has a need for freedom. We keep the body safe from harm by engaging in fight or flight behavior. When we try to do the same for the soul we give ourselves a false sense of safety, and we sacrifice our psychological freedom. Since our souls can’t be harmed, I teach my clients not to stay safe but to liberate themselves by leading lives that bring satisfaction, authenticity, and self-assurance.

I provide a non-clinical setting in which clients can feel free to express themselves and to be free from the usual moralizing and pathologizing. I prefer to see the counseling relationship as a long conversation rather than a series of appointments to be kept.
