Great to meet you!

I draw from supportive, mindfulness-based, and existential therapies, integrating CBT when helpful and making room for thoughtfully placed levity when it can ease the work. Over the past 26 years, I’ve worked with individuals and families across the social spectrum—from people exploring identity and life direction to those navigating acute symptoms within inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, addiction treatment, and family-based social service systems. Additionally, as a volunteer firefighter / first responder I'm intimately aware of the stresses and traumas people in this community experience, and conversely, the experience community members face in their interactions with first responders.

My approach to therapy

Come as you are. Therapy is a private, grounded space where you can explore what’s getting in the way of a more meaningful, productive, and satisfying life. I recognize the real courage it takes to step into a room and share parts of yourself that feel vulnerable. My approach is person-centered, empathic, and flexible—I meet you exactly where you are and support you in identifying the areas you want to understand, strengthen, or change.

Whatever you’re facing, you’re welcome to bring your full self. I look forward to exploring with you, helping you feel better, and supporting you in discovering a clearer, more grounded sense of self.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to slow down, get grounded, and begin building a safe and comfortable space together. You can expect a conversational, low-pressure environment where you’re encouraged to come exactly as you are—no performance, no preparation needed.

We’ll start by talking about what brings you in, what you’re struggling with, and what you’re hoping to change or better understand. I’ll ask about your history at a pace that feels manageable, always checking in to make sure you feel supported and not overwhelmed. Together, we’ll start to clarify your goals and outline what therapy might look like for you.

My style is empathic, attuned, and flexible. I meet you where you are—whether you’re sorting through life transitions, exploring identity, managing symptoms, or feeling stuck and unsure where to begin. You’ll get a sense of my blend of supportive, mindfulness-based, and existential approaches, along with practical tools from CBT when useful, and even a bit of well-timed levity to ease the weight of difficult topics.

Most importantly, you can expect a space where your vulnerability is respected, your experiences are taken seriously, and your whole self is welcome. The first session sets the tone for a collaborative process aimed at helping you feel better, gain clarity, and begin moving toward a more grounded and meaningful life.
