Great to meet you!

I have an engineering Masters Degree from UCLA in engineering and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Saint Mary's College of California. After a long career in the engineering field I decided to change gears and work in the counseling field. As I pursued by LMFT license, I specialized working with Substance Use Disorder clients, clients coming to a college counseling center, clients with more technical backgrounds, and clients dealing with the challenges of aging.

My approach to therapy

My style is working with clients is to work collaboratively to identify areas of focus, to set goals around those areas, and to deploy the best practices to meet those goals. I have experience using humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive approaches. Coming from an engineering background and working with clients with technical background, I specialize in helping clients understand and deal with their emotional side.

What you can expect from me

During the first session in addition to doing the required informed consent and answer questions, I will work with the client to begin to understand their issues. It is also important to let the client determine if they feel there is a good fit and decide if they want to proceed with therapy.
