Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Joe. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), combat veteran, and former Clinical Director of a hospital behavioral health unit. I have experience working with a wide range of individuals across diverse backgrounds and life experiences, helping clients navigate a variety of mental health challenges.

My primary areas of focus include trauma, ADHD, autism, and burnout recovery. As a veteran, I also understand the unique challenges that military members, veterans, first responders, and their families may face, though I welcome clients from all walks of life. I believe every person’s experiences are unique, which is why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.

My style is direct, collaborative, and goal-oriented. Rather than simply telling you what to do, I work alongside you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs, strengths, and goals. Therapy is most effective when we work together as a team, and my goal is to provide honest feedback, practical strategies, and a supportive environment where meaningful progress can occur.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and evidence-based. I believe therapy works best when we work together to understand what’s happening, identify meaningful goals, and develop strategies that fit your life. I draw from evidence-based treatments while tailoring each session to your unique experiences, strengths, and needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

I have a direct and honest therapeutic style while maintaining a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. I believe lasting change comes from active participation, so I work alongside my clients to build realistic skills, increase insight, and create sustainable progress that extends beyond our sessions.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is primarily a diagnostic evaluation designed to help me understand your history, current concerns, strengths, and treatment goals. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, review relevant background information, and begin identifying the factors contributing to your current challenges.

During our second session, we’ll review what the evaluation revealed and begin developing a collaborative treatment plan tailored to your needs. From there, we’ll identify meaningful goals, establish priorities, and begin building practical strategies and skills to support your progress. My goal is to ensure that therapy is individualized, collaborative, and focused on helping you achieve lasting change.
