Josephine Vuchansu, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals facing a wide range of mental health concerns. With more than 16 years of nursing experience, including over 5 years in psychiatric care, she brings strong clinical expertise and a calm, supportive presence to her work.
Josephine earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric/Mental Health from the University of Massachusetts Global and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Buea. She is board-certified by the ANCC as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
She provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning tailored to each client’s needs. Care may include medication management with thoughtful monitoring and adjustments, as well as therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and supportive talk therapy. Josephine also emphasizes patient education, helping clients better understand their symptoms, treatment options, and available resources so they can feel informed and empowered in their care.
Josephine works with clients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. She commonly supports concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and other emotional and behavioral health challenges.
