Great to meet you!

You don't have to have it all figured out to start therapy — you just have to take one step. I'm Juan Flores, LCSW, LCADC, and I'm here to walk that journey with you.

With over a decade of experience spanning crisis intervention, addiction recovery, inpatient psychiatry, veterans' care, and private practice, I bring a rare depth of real-world clinical expertise to every session. I've worked with people at their most vulnerable — on the streets, in hospitals, in courtrooms — and what I've learned is this: healing is possible for everyone, regardless of where they're starting from.

I practice through RiteMind Counseling Group, an online therapy practice built on one core belief — that quality mental health care should be accessible, judgment-free, and human. No labels. No pressure. Just real support.

My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to help you identify the patterns holding you back and build the life you actually want. I specialize in working with individuals and couples, with a particular focus on the LGBTQ+ community.

I hold licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Addictions Counselor and a Certified Sex therapist, meaning I'm uniquely equipped to treat the whole person — mental health, sexual health and addiction, and everything in between. I've also served as a clinical director, a university lecturer, and a community trainer, so whether you need deep clinical expertise or just someone who will genuinely get you, I've got you covered.

RiteMind accepts most major insurance plans, and sessions are available entirely online — so you can get support from wherever feels safest for you.

You deserve to be in your RiteMind. Let's get you there.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, individualized, and focused on creating meaningful change. I believe that every person’s experiences, challenges, and goals are different, so I tailor treatment to fit each client’s specific needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, trauma-focused approaches, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques to help clients gain insight and build practical strategies for growth.

My style is open-minded, honest, and direct. I strive to create a space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. I believe in having real conversations and helping clients recognize patterns that may be keeping them stuck while also building accountability and identifying strengths they can use to move forward. Therapy is not just about talking through problems—it’s about gaining clarity, developing effective tools, and creating meaningful, lasting change. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed, I work alongside you to help you feel more empowered and confident in your next steps.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect the first session to be thorough, structured, and focused on gaining a clear understanding of what brings them to therapy. We will discuss current concerns, relevant background information, past experiences, and the goals they hope to achieve through treatment. This initial session is an opportunity for me to understand the full picture rather than simply addressing symptoms alone.

I also view the first session as a chance for us to determine whether we are a good fit to work together. I believe therapy works best when there is a strong therapeutic connection and a shared understanding of goals and expectations. My style is open-minded, honest, and direct, and I encourage clients to ask questions and be transparent throughout the process. By the end of the session, clients can expect a clearer understanding of next steps and an initial plan for moving forward.
