Great to meet you!

Welcome! I'm Karen Cowell.

I believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive space where they feel heard, understood, and accepted. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, addiction recovery, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, I'm here to help you build the tools and confidence to move forward. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, tailoring therapy to each person's unique needs. My goal is to help you feel supported, empowered, and hopeful throughout your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I believe healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and respect. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), mindfulness, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused techniques. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral challenges, life transitions, relationship concerns, and addiction recovery. Together, we'll create a treatment plan that fits your goals, builds on your strengths, and supports meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's normal to feel a little nervous. During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to counseling, and exploring what you hope to achieve. There is no pressure to share everything right away—we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and confident that we have a plan to work together toward your goals.
