Great to meet you!

I’ve seen how pain that goes unspoken can quietly shape a person, a marriage, and an entire family, and that truth is what called me into this work. As a family therapist, pastor, and educator, I bring both clinical training and deep compassion to the people who trust me with their stories. My background includes a doctorate in education, a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, and licensure as a marriage and family therapist, but what matters most to me is helping people feel seen, supported, and capable of change. I am especially committed to advancing mental health awareness among African American men, who often carry unique burdens and face real barriers to seeking care. Whether you are coming to therapy as an individual, a couple, or a family, I want you to know you do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is centered on you—your story, your strengths, your relationships, and the life you want to build. I create a space that feels collaborative and respectful, where we can talk honestly about what’s hurting and what healing could look like for you. I draw from different approaches based on your needs, including trauma-focused care, so our work together feels practical, personal, and grounded in what will actually help. For families, that may mean strengthening communication and connection; for individuals, it may mean working through pain, patterns, or transitions with greater clarity and confidence. For clients seeking Christian counseling, I also welcome faith as part of the healing process in a way that feels genuine and supportive.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can take a breath and begin exactly where you are. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’ve been carrying, and what you hope might feel different in your life or relationships. I’ll take time to understand your background, your concerns, and the goals that matter most to you, and together we’ll begin shaping a plan that fits you. You do not need to have all the right words or everything figured out before we meet. My hope is that you leave that first conversation feeling heard, encouraged, and ready to take the next step toward healing.
