Great to meet you!

I was traumatised in childhood and became very depressed. As I got older I could see that, even though it caused me a lot of suffering, I was unconsciously choosing situations and relationships that mirrored my childhood family relationships and my roles in them. I finally found a therapist skilled in trauma work who helped me put my past in my past and a whole world opened up for me. I want to give that same freedom and hope to you.

My approach to therapy

I am skilled in many evidence based treatments and interventions. I will recommend the ones that I think and feel are most likely to help you achieve your goals. But you will always have the final say. I see therapy as a two-way commitment fo us to work in partnership to the shared goal of your healing. I will never expect you to do something. I will invite you. My style is open, honest, nonjudgemental, curious and holistic.

What you can expect from me

First the 2 things I cannot do: I cannot take away your pain - you have to face it to overcome it. I can promise that I will give you the tools to do that. I also cannot promise a specific outcome - your work will largely determine your outcome. I do promise that I will always do my best to guide and support your work. What you can expect is my undivided attention, my careful listening, my trustworthiness, my expertise, and my belief in you, and in our partnership.
