Great to meet you!

I have extensive trauma-informed clinical experience with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, insomnia/sleep issues, health concerns, major life transitions, perinatal mood disorders, co-morbid disorders, cultural identity, and emotional difficulty across a wide range of settings, including the VA, hospital systems, community mental health, university counseling center, women's shelter, community mental health, inpatient/outpatient mental health, retirement center, and others. I completed my undergraduate training at Taylor University, graduate training at Ball State University (chirp chirp), and my post-doctoral training at VA Sierra Nevada.

Technical Skills, Trainings, and Primary Theoretical Orientation:

Trained in EMDR, Trauma Recovery, Motivational Interviewing, CBT for Insomnia, CBT for Headaches, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD (PE), Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR), and others.

Operate from a Mindfulness, Multicultural, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral, Interpersonal Process, and Humanistic Integrative theoretical approach utilizing interventions from various interventions as clinically relevant and context-specific.

My approach to therapy

I'm glad you are here, advocating for yourself and seeking help and/or support, whether that is with me or someone else. You don't have to carry on or walk the road of life alone. My goal is to meet clients where they are and provide intentional, compassionate, genuine, and trauma-informed care that everyone deserves. I aim to provide holistic, culturally competent, and evidenced-based care that aligns with what matters to you, your goals, and shaping a life that supports your vision, values, and who you authentically are.

My Counseling Oath:

I am here to listen, not work miracles.

I am here to help you discover what you are feeling and how you would like to engage with them, not to make the feelings go away.

I am here to help you identify your options, not to decide what you should do.

I am to discuss steps with you, not to take the steps for you.

I am here to help you discover your inner strength and power (even if it feels it has been dormant for far too long), not to rescue you and leave you vulnerable.

I am here to help you discover you can help yourself and not to steal the responsibility from you.

I am here to help you learn to choose in ways you are proud of and speak to who you authentically are, not to keep you from difficult choices.

I am here to provide support and help for you to change and grow" in ways you are proud of and speak to the heart of who you truly are and want to be.
