Great to meet you!

I bring nearly twenty years of real-world clinical experience across prevention, outpatient care, rehab settings, and program leadership. I’m a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and certified in addiction-informed mental health (CAIMHP). What all those letters actually mean is this: I know how anxiety, trauma, addiction, and relationship patterns tangle together. I treat you as a whole person, not a set of symptoms.

My style is direct, compassionate, and completely grounded. I believe therapy should feel comfortable, but it also needs to have a point. I’m going to listen closely and validate what you’ve been through, but I’m also going to help you gently call yourself out on the patterns that are keeping you stuck. We aren't just here to talk about insight, we are here to make actual change happen.

Clients usually describe me as down-to-earth, funny, honest, and practical. You won't get that nod-and-smile "therapist voice" or a bunch of textbook definitions from me. I believe in real, human conversations, figuring things out together, and giving you tools you can actually use in your everyday life. We will laugh, cry and rise above!

If you are dealing with addiction, anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship stress, or just feel completely overwhelmed, you don’t have to carry it alone. Therapy with me is a space where you can be honest, messy, and imperfect, while we work together to get you back on solid ground.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, direct, and grounded in both trauma-informed and addiction-informed care. I view symptoms as signals — not character flaws — and I help clients understand the “why” behind their patterns.

I draw from cognitive-behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, and relational work, but I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Therapy should fit you, not the other way around. You can expect a balance of compassion and accountability. We’ll process what’s heavy, identify what’s keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies you can actually use in daily life.

What you can expect from me

First sessions are nothing to worry about! The first session is really about getting to know each other. You don’t have to tell me your whole life story, and you definitely don’t need to have the “right” words. We’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you, what feels stuck, and what made you reach out at this point in your life. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to understand the bigger picture, but it’s not an interrogation - it’s a conversation. We’ll start connecting some dots and get clear on what you’d like to see change. You don’t need to impress me, prepare anything, or have it all figured out. Just show up as you are. Even if it may feel a little awkward, that’s normal. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, not judged, and clearer about where we’re headed next. You should walk away feeling a little lighter, a bit more grounded and a lot less alone in it. You're in control!
