Great to meet you!

Greetings! I'm Dan and I've been counseling for the better part of a decade, working in both private practice and community mental health since graduating from Southeastern University in 2014 with a Masters in Professional Counseling. I have experience in individual, group, and family therapy, counseling people with issues from anxiety and depression, to grief and trauma, as well as behavioral issues in children and adolescents.

My approach to therapy

I always strive to meet clients where they are and seek to understand what's brought them into therapy. I will help the client identify what issues might be underlying their concerns, and develop a collaborative approach to help them move through those problems. I like to balance warmth, humor, and empathy with a solution-focused approach, remaining inquisitive without judgment.

What you can expect from me

My primary goal with any new client is firstly to develop a healthy, therapeutic relationship with them in order to build rapport and trust. I believe that a therapist is only as good as the relational dynamic with the client, and my approach is to help put you at ease and build trust. We will discuss goals each week, and I usually will assign homework or exercises between sessions, and touch base regularly to see how progress is going. I want to create an environment that is friendly, trusting, and uplifting, which I believe promote the best outcomes!
