Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia with a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from the College of William & Mary. I also have master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. I specialize in relationships, anxiety, depression, anger, addiction, perfectionism, educational/occupational concerns, and trauma. I am trained in cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, narrative, contextual, and relational approaches to therapy.

My approach to therapy

In therapy, I try to find a balance between support and challenge so I can help you grow and heal. Although the type of treatment is important, I believe the most important factor for positive outcomes in therapy is the quality of our relationship. Good relationships bring more joy and satisfaction to life! I strive for honesty, transparency, authenticity, empathy, compassion, and mutuality in our interactions.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I tend to focus on gathering a lot of information, which helps me get to know you and understand your needs. However, in the sessions that follow, we will typically spend most of our time focusing on your needs and the goals we have agreed upon in therapy. Therapy will be healing and lead to greater insight, but it will also be challenging at times. Doing the work together leads to good results!
